Get customer signatures on jobs, invoices, and estimates, and request reviews after completion
Overview
BlueClerk lets you collect digital signatures from customers on jobs, invoices, and estimates - perfect for confirming work approval or completion. After completing a job, customers automatically receive a Google review request 24 hours later if you have a Google review URL configured in your company settings.

Requesting a Signature
From any job, invoice, or estimate:
- Open the record you want signed
- Click "Request Signature"
- Select who should sign: Choose a customer contact
- Add a message (optional)
- Send the request - Customer receives an email with a signing link
Customer Signing Experience
When customers receive a signature request:
- Click the link in the email
- Review the document (job details, invoice line items, or estimate)
- Sign with their finger or mouse on the signature pad
- Submit - The signature is saved and you're notified
Viewing Signed Documents
Once signed:
- Signature appears on the job, invoice, or estimate detail page
- Timestamp recorded - Shows when it was signed
- Signer identified - Name and contact of who signed
- PDF includes signature - Downloads and emails show the signature
Automatic Review Requests
How It Works
BlueClerk automatically requests Google reviews from customers after job completion:
- Daily at 3pm UTC - A scheduled process checks for eligible jobs
- 24-48 hour window - Only sends to jobs completed 24-48 hours ago
- Google review URL required - Company settings must include your Google review link
- SMS preferred, email fallback - Sends via SMS if customer has a phone number; otherwise uses email
- Duplicate prevention - Each job only gets one review request, tracked in the database
- Batch limit - Maximum 50 review requests sent per day
Setting Up Review Requests
To enable automatic review requests:
- Go to Settings > Company Profile
- Scroll to "Google Review URL"
- Paste your Google review link (e.g., from Google Business Profile)
- Save settings
Your Google review URL can be found:
- In your Google Business Profile dashboard
- Under "Get more reviews" or "Share review form"
- It usually looks like:

What Customers Receive
Via SMS (if phone number available):
Hi [FirstName]! Thanks for choosing [Company Name]. If you were happy with our work, we'd really appreciate a quick review: [Google Review URL]
Via Email (if no phone number):
- Branded email with your company logo
- Friendly message thanking them for their business
- Clear call-to-action button linking to your Google review page
Reviewing Sent Requests
To see which jobs have received review requests:
- Open a job detail page
- Look for "Review Requests" section
- See when the request was sent and via which method (SMS or email)
Why 24 Hours?
The 24-48 hour window ensures:
- Job completion is verified - Work is truly done, not just marked complete
- Customer has time to experience results - They've lived with the repair or installation
- Fresh in their mind - Not so long that they forget the details
- Prevents duplicate requests - System tracks which jobs have already received requests
Tips
For Better Signatures
- Request signatures on-site when possible - Higher completion rate
- Explain what they're signing - "This confirms the work is complete to your satisfaction"
- Make it easy - Provide a tablet or show them on your phone
For Better Reviews
- Do great work - The best reviews come from satisfied customers
- Set up your Google review URL - Don't miss out on automatic requests
- Keep customer contact info current - Phone numbers for SMS, emails for fallback
- Monitor your review requests - Check that customers are receiving them
Questions
Q: Can I manually request a review for a specific job? A: Currently, review requests are sent automatically 24 hours after job completion. If you'd like to manually request a review, you can send customers your Google review URL directly via text or email.
Q: What if a customer doesn't have a phone number or email? A: No review request will be sent. Make sure to collect at least one contact method (preferably phone for SMS) when creating customer records.
Q: Can I customize the review request message? A: Not yet. The message is standardized to ensure consistency and professionalism across all requests.
Q: Will customers get multiple review requests for the same job? A: No. BlueClerk tracks which jobs have received review requests and will never send duplicates for the same job.
Q: What if I don't have a Google Business Profile? A: You'll need to create one to receive Google reviews. Visit google.com/business to set up your profile, then add your review URL to BlueClerk settings.
Q: Can I see how many customers left reviews? A: Review request sending is tracked in BlueClerk, but actual review submissions happen on Google. Check your Google Business Profile to see new reviews.
Q: What time zone is the 3pm UTC cron? A: 3pm UTC is 10am Central Time / 11am Eastern / 8am Pacific. The system runs once daily at this time to find and send review requests.
