Job Request Push Notifications

Configure which types of push notifications you receive on mobile for job requests, ticket assignments, and other alerts

Overview

Control which push notifications you receive on your mobile device. Turn off notifications for specific types of alerts (like new job requests from the marketplace) while keeping others (like direct ticket assignments from builders) turned on. This helps you stay informed about what matters most without notification overload.

How It Works

Per-Type Push Settings

Your notification preferences include:

  • Master push toggle - Turn all push notifications on or off
  • Per-type overrides - Control notifications for specific event types:
    • Job request notifications (marketplace leads)
    • Ticket assignments (direct dispatch from contractors)
    • Chat messages
    • Payment notifications
    • And more

When a per-type setting is missing, notifications default to ON. To opt out of a specific notification type, explicitly turn it off in settings.

Configuring Notifications

Mobile Settings

  1. Open the BlueClerk mobile app
  2. Go to Settings > Notifications
  3. Toggle the master "Push Notifications" switch to enable or disable all notifications
  4. Expand per-type settings to control individual notification types
  5. Toggle off specific types you don't want to receive (e.g., "Job Request Notifications")
  6. Changes save automatically and sync to the server

What Happens When You Opt Out

When you turn off a notification type:

  • The server checks your preferences before sending push notifications
  • You won't receive FCM pushes for that event type
  • In-app notifications may still appear (depending on the notification type)
  • Other notification types continue working normally

Mobile Inbox for Job Requests

Viewing Incoming Requests

If you're a contractor who receives job requests from builders or the marketplace:

  1. Open "Jobs" in the mobile app
  2. Tap "Incoming Requests" to see pending job requests
  3. View request details: requester name, contact info, address, description, and source
  4. Tap a request to accept, decline, or respond

Marking Requests Converted

When you convert a job request into a ticket:

  1. Open the job request in the mobile inbox
  2. Tap "Mark Converted"
  3. The request status changes to ACCEPTED and is linked to your ticket
  4. Operation is idempotent - tapping multiple times is safe

Tips

  • Turn off marketplace notifications if you get too many leads you're not interested in
  • Keep ticket assignment notifications on so you don't miss direct dispatch from contractors you work with
  • Master toggle overrides all per-type settings - if the master switch is off, no pushes are sent regardless of per-type settings

Questions

Q: What happens if I turn off the master push toggle but leave specific types enabled? A: No push notifications will be sent. The master toggle is a kill-switch that overrides all per-type settings.

Q: If I don't see a toggle for a specific notification type, will I receive notifications for it? A: Yes. Missing per-type settings default to ON. You must explicitly toggle a type off to stop receiving those notifications.

Q: Can I turn off push notifications but still see in-app alerts? A: Yes. Push notification settings only control FCM pushes to your mobile device. In-app notifications (like the bell icon on web) are controlled separately.
