Answer questions about your business before AI builds your website

Overview

Before generating your contractor website, BlueClerk asks you 5 quick questions about your business. Your answers help AI create content that sounds like you, not a generic template. The whole conversation takes 2-3 minutes and results in a personalized website tailored to your company.

How It Works

Starting the Setup

  1. Go to My Website in the contractor sidebar
  2. Click "Get Started" if you haven't built a website yet
  3. The chat setup opens with a welcome message from the AI

The 5 Questions

The AI will ask:

  1. What does your company do? - Describe your services and who you serve
  2. What areas do you serve? - Cities, counties, or regions you cover
  3. What sets you apart? - Why customers should choose you over competitors
  4. What's your website goal? - Get phone calls, book online, or just look professional
  5. Anything else? - Years in business, certifications, specialties, etc.

Answering Questions

  • Type your answer in the input field at the bottom
  • Click "Send" or press Enter
  • The AI acknowledges your answer and asks the next question
  • Be natural - write like you're talking to a customer

After You Answer

Once you've answered all 5 questions:

  1. AI says "Building your website now..."
  2. BlueClerk generates your content using your answers
  3. You're dropped into the visual editor with sections pre-filled
  4. Edit, preview, and publish when you're ready

Tips

  • Be specific - "We do HVAC repair and replacement in North Austin" is better than "We do HVAC"
  • Mention unique benefits - Certifications, warranties, response times, etc.
  • Include your personality - If you're friendly and local, say so
  • Don't overthink it - You can edit everything in the visual editor later

Questions

Q: Can I skip questions?
A: No, all 5 questions are required to generate good content. Just answer briefly if you're unsure.

Q: What if I don't like the generated content?
A: You can edit every section, headline, and word in the visual editor before publishing.

Q: Can I redo the chat setup later?
A: Not currently - but you can manually edit your website content anytime from the visual editor.

Q: Does this cost AI credits?
A: Yes, generating the initial website content uses AI credits from your monthly allocation.
