Importing Data from Other Platforms
Import your customers, properties, and jobs from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, or FieldEdge
Overview
If you're switching to BlueClerk from another field service platform, you can import your existing data automatically. Connect your account from Jobber, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, or FieldEdge, and BlueClerk will fetch your customers, properties, and jobs, then help you review and import them - no manual re-entry required.
Supported Platforms
- Jobber - Full OAuth integration with automatic token refresh
- Housecall Pro
- ServiceTitan
- FieldEdge
How Platform Import Works
Step 1: Connect Your Account
From Onboarding:
- During initial setup, you'll see a platform import step
- Click the platform you use (e.g., "Import from Jobber")
- Authorize BlueClerk to access your account
- Wait for import - This happens automatically after authorization
From Settings:
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Find your platform in the list (e.g., Jobber)
- Click "Connect"
- Authorize BlueClerk in the OAuth flow
- Import runs automatically after connection
Step 2: Review What Was Imported
After the import completes:
- See the count of imported customers and properties
- Check your customer list to verify data
- Review properties attached to each customer
- All data is ready to use immediately
Step 3: Re-Import if Needed
If you've added new customers or properties in your old platform:
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Find your connected platform
- Click "Re-Import"
- New records are fetched without duplicating existing ones
Jobber Integration
What Gets Imported
From Jobber, BlueClerk imports:
- Clients - Becomes customers in BlueClerk
- Properties - Attached to the correct customer
- Client types - Residential, Commercial, etc.
Security Features
- OAuth 2.0 - Secure, standard authorization
- Encrypted tokens - All credentials encrypted at rest
- Automatic refresh - Tokens refresh automatically before expiring
- Token rotation - New refresh tokens generated with each refresh for maximum security
Disconnecting Jobber
If you need to disconnect:
- Go to Settings > Integrations
- Find Jobber in your connected integrations
- Click "Disconnect"
- Confirm - This removes the connection and clears tokens
- Your imported data remains in BlueClerk
During Onboarding
Platform Import Step
When creating a new contractor company account:
- Step 0 shows platform options before main onboarding
- Choose your platform or skip if not applicable
- Connect and import - Data arrives before you set up other features
- Continue to main setup once import completes
Skip Option
If you don't use any supported platforms:
- Click "Skip" to proceed with manual setup
- You can always import later from Settings
Tips
- Import early - Do this during onboarding to start with your full customer base
- Re-import periodically - If you're transitioning gradually, re-import to catch new records
- Data stays yours - Disconnecting the integration doesn't delete your imported customers
- No duplicates - Re-importing won't create duplicate customers or properties
Questions
Q: What happens if I re-import? A: BlueClerk checks for existing customers and properties by name/address and only adds new records. Existing records aren't duplicated.
Q: Can I import from multiple platforms? A: Currently, you can connect one platform at a time. Disconnect one before connecting another.
Q: How long does import take? A: Most imports complete in under a minute. Large customer lists (500+) may take a few minutes.
Q: What if my Jobber token expires? A: BlueClerk automatically refreshes tokens before they expire. If refresh fails, you'll be prompted to reconnect.
Q: Can I import jobs/invoices from Jobber? A: Currently, only customers and properties are imported. Jobs and invoices remain in your original platform.
Q: Where can I see my import status? A: Go to Settings > Integrations and look for your connected platform. It shows connection status and last import date.
