Granting Free Marketplace Access

Overview

Admins can grant builder companies free marketplace access with 100 scan credits and a 1-year subscription at no charge. This is useful for testing new features, onboarding key partners, or providing promotional access to specific builders.

How to Grant Access

From Company Detail Page

1. Log in with an admin account
2. Navigate to Admin > Operations > Companies
3. Find the builder company you want to grant access to
4. Click the company to open the detail page
5. Look for "Grant Marketplace Access" button (only visible for BUILDER companies)
6. Click the button to grant access
7. Access is granted immediately with 100 scan credits and 1-year expiration

What Gets Created

When you grant marketplace access:

• MarketplaceSubscription record created with status ACTIVE
• 100 scan credits included (scanCreditsIncluded = 100, scanCreditsUsed = 0)
• 1-year subscription (currentPeriodEnd = 365 days from now)
• Admin-generated IDs (stripeSubscriptionId and stripeCustomerId prefixed with admin_grant_)

Use Cases

• Testing - Give Chance or QA testers marketplace access to test plan uploads and AI scanning
• Partnerships - Provide free access to key builder partners
• Promotional periods - Offer trial marketplace access to new builders
• Support - Grant temporary access to troubleshoot issues

Tips

• The button only appears for companies with type = BUILDER
• If a subscription already exists, it will be updated (not duplicated)
• Granted subscriptions use placeholder Stripe IDs since no actual payment was processed
• You can grant access multiple times to extend or refresh credits
