Sign In with Google

Sign in to BlueClerk using your Google account and link Google to existing accounts

Overview

BlueClerk supports Google Sign-In, letting you log in instantly with your Google account on both web and mobile apps. When signing in with Google for the first time, you'll choose your account type (homeowner, contractor, or business) before your account is created. You can also link your Google account to an existing BlueClerk account from your profile settings, allowing you to sign in with either your email/password or Google.

How to Sign In with Google

First-Time Google Sign-In

When you sign in with Google for the first time:

  1. Click "Sign in with Google" on the login screen.
  2. Select your Google account from the list.
  3. Authorize BlueClerk if prompted.
  4. Choose your account type on the type picker page:
    • Homeowner
    • Individual Contractor
    • Contractor Company / Business / Builder

BlueClerk uses your choice to create the appropriate account for you.

Linking Google to an Existing Account

If you already have a BlueClerk account, you can link your Google account from your profile settings. Once linked, you can sign in with either your email/password or Google.

Where You Land After Signing In (Post-Sign-In Redirect)

After a successful Google sign-in, BlueClerk will automatically redirect you to the dashboard or landing page that best matches your role and company:

  • If you're a member of a contractor company:
    • Contractor company accounts → /contractor-company/dashboard
  • If your company is a builder:
    • Builder accounts → /builder/dashboard
  • If your company is a business (non-contractor builder):
    • Business accounts → /business/[companyId]/dashboard
  • If you are an individual contractor with no company:
    • Individual contractor → /contractor/dashboard
  • If you are a team member (role: Member) with no company:
    • Team members without a company → /my-jobs
  • If you are a homeowner:
    • Homeowners → /homeowner/dashboard

If BlueClerk cannot determine a more specific destination, it will fall back to the contractor-company dashboard.

Note: If you were redirected to login from a specific in-app link (for example, to view an invoice or continue an action), BlueClerk will attempt to send you back to that original target instead of the default dashboard.

Tips

  • If you expect to land on a company dashboard but don't, check that your Google account is linked to the correct BlueClerk user and that the user is associated with the right company.
  • If you choose the wrong account type during first-time sign-in, link the Google account to the correct BlueClerk account via Profile > Account Settings, or contact support for help.

Questions

Q: I signed in with Google but landed on the wrong dashboard. What do I do? A: Verify which BlueClerk account your Google account is linked to (Profile > Account Settings). If the link is to the wrong user, unlink and re-link to the correct account, or contact support for assistance.

Q: I chose an account type during sign-up but need to change it later. A: Account type changes often involve data/model differences (homeowner vs. contractor/company). Contact support if you need to change your primary account type—some changes require manual migration.
