Construction Schedule Templates
Create and manage reusable construction phase templates for your properties
Overview
Construction schedule templates let you define a standard set of construction phases (Foundation, Framing, Rough-In, Drywall, etc.) that can be applied to any property with one click. Configure your templates once with phase names, estimated durations, and order - then apply them to new properties to instantly create a complete construction timeline.
Managing Templates
Accessing Template Settings
- Go to Builder > Settings in the sidebar
- Click "Schedule Templates" in the settings menu
- View your current phase templates with names, durations, and order

- Rough-In (14 days)
- Drywall (10 days)
- Interior Finishes (14 days)
- Exterior Finishes (10 days)
- Final Walkthrough (3 days)

Applying Templates to Properties
Set Up Schedule Button
When viewing a property that has no construction phases yet:
- Go to the property detail page
- Click the "Phases" tab
- Click "Set Up Schedule"
- All templates are applied instantly with:
- Phase names and order from templates
- Estimated durations from templates
- Status set to "Not Started"
- No scheduled dates (you add those manually)
After Setup
Once templates are applied:
- Each phase appears as a card in the timeline
- You can set scheduled start/end dates using the date pickers
- Update phase status as work progresses
- The "Set Up Schedule" button disappears (phases already exist)
Scheduling Phase Dates
After applying templates to a property:
- Open the property with phases applied
- Go to the "Phases" tab
- Click the calendar icon on any phase card
- Select a start date from the popover calendar
- Click the second calendar icon to set an end date
- Dates save automatically and appear on the phase card
Tips
- Set realistic durations in your templates based on your actual construction timelines
- Update templates as your process improves - changes only affect newly applied phases
- Reorder templates to match your typical construction sequence
- Use scheduled dates to track whether phases are on schedule or delayed
Questions
Q: If I change a template, do existing property phases update?
A: No. Template changes only affect future applications. Existing property phases remain unchanged.
Q: Can I apply templates to a property that already has phases?
A: No. The "Set Up Schedule" button only appears when a property has zero phases. This prevents accidental duplication.
Q: What if I don't want all the default phases?
A: Delete any phases you don't need from the template list. Only the remaining templates will be applied to properties.
Q: Can I add phases to a property after applying templates?
A: Yes. After templates are applied, you can manually add, edit, or delete individual phases on the property detail page.
