Configure your company profile, branding, and preferences

Overview

Company settings control how your business appears to customers and how BlueClerk works for your team. From your logo and contact info to invoice defaults and integrations, this is where you customize BlueClerk for your business.

Accessing Company Settings

  1. Click your profile icon (top-right corner)
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Navigate sections using the sidebar

Profile Settings

Company Information

Basic details about your business:

  • Company Name: Your official business name
  • Company Type: Contractor, Builder, or Business
  • Phone Number: Main business line
  • Email: Primary contact email
  • Website: Your company website URL

Address

Your physical business location:

  • Street address
  • City, state, ZIP code
  • This appears on invoices and your public profile

Logo

Your company logo appears on:

  • Invoices and estimates
  • Public profile page
  • Customer communications

To upload a logo:

  1. Click the logo area or "Upload Logo"
  2. Select an image file (PNG, JPG, or SVG)
  3. Crop/adjust if needed
  4. Save changes

Recommended: At least 400×400 pixels, square format.

Description

Write a compelling description of your business:

  • What services you provide
  • Your experience and expertise
  • What makes you different
  • Service area

Maximum 1000 characters. This shows on your public profile.

Service Categories

Selecting Your Services

Choose the trades/services you offer:

  • Plumbing
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Roofing
  • Painting
  • General Contracting
  • And many more...

Select all that apply. This helps:

  • Customers find you
  • Organize work by type
  • Filter in reports

License Information

If your trade requires licensing:

  • License Number: Your official license number
  • License Label: What to call it (e.g., "State Contractor License #")

This displays on your public profile and invoices.

Customer Type Settings

Who You Serve

Select the customer types you work with:

  • Homeowners: Residential customers
  • Builders: New construction and warranty work
  • Commercial: Business customers

This affects available features and how customers find you.

Invoice Settings

Defaults

Set default values for new invoices:

  • Payment Terms: Due on Receipt, Net 10, 15, or 30
  • Tax Rate: Default tax percentage
  • Invoice Notes: Standard text added to invoices

Numbering

Customize invoice numbering:

  • Invoice Prefix: Default is "INV" (e.g., INV-0001)
  • Estimate Prefix: Default is "EST" (e.g., EST-0001)
  • Next Number: Current sequence number

Business Email

Using a Custom Email

Send invoices from your business email instead of your login email:

  1. Go to Business Email in settings
  2. Enter your business email (e.g., billing@yourcompany.com)
  3. Click "Send Verification"
  4. Check your inbox and click the verification link
  5. Email is now verified and will be used for invoices

Why Use Business Email?

  • More professional appearance
  • Matches your domain
  • Separates billing from personal email

Public Profile

Your Profile URL

Create a custom URL for your public profile:

  • Format: blueclerk.com/your-company-name
  • Must be unique
  • URL-safe characters only

Profile Visibility

Your public profile shows:

  • Company name and logo
  • Description
  • Service categories
  • Contact information
  • "Request Service" button

  • Keep your profile complete - it builds trust
  • Use a professional, high-quality logo
  • Write a description that speaks to your ideal customer
  • Keep contact information current
  • Review settings periodically

Common Questions

Q: Can I change my company name? A: Yes, update it in settings. Changes apply to new documents; existing documents keep the old name.

Q: Who can access company settings? A: Only users with Admin role can modify company settings.

Q: Will changing my logo update old invoices? A: No, existing invoices keep the logo from when they were created.

Q: Can I have multiple company profiles? A: Each company has one profile. If you operate multiple businesses, contact support about multi-company setups.
