Builder Onboarding Checklist

Complete your builder setup with the guided onboarding checklist

Overview

The builder onboarding checklist guides you through essential setup steps to get your BlueClerk builder account fully operational. The checklist appears as a floating widget in the bottom-left corner of your screen and shows your progress through 6 setup steps tailored specifically for home builders.

Builder Checklist Steps

Required Steps

These steps must be completed before onboarding auto-completes:

  1. Complete company profile - Add your company name, phone, and address
  2. Upload your logo - Required for watermarks on plans and professional branding

Recommended Steps

These steps help you get the most out of BlueClerk:

  1. Create a subdivision - Add your first development or neighborhood
  2. Add a property - Create your first home record
  3. Set up construction phases - Define your standard construction timeline
  4. Upload a plan - Add architectural plans to your library

How It Works

Automatic Progress Detection

BlueClerk automatically detects when you complete each step:

  • Logo uploaded - Detected when you upload a company logo in Settings
  • First plan uploaded - Detected when you add a plan to your library
  • First subdivision created - Detected when you create a subdivision
  • First property added - Detected when you add a property
  • Schedule templates setup - Detected when you create construction phase templates

Floating Widget

The checklist appears as a small pill in the bottom-left corner showing your completion percentage. Click to expand and see all steps with checkmarks for completed items.

Dismissing the Checklist

You can dismiss the checklist at any time by clicking "Dismiss" in the expanded panel. Admin users can still see dismissed checklists by toggling "Show dismissed" in settings.

Getting Help

Each checklist item links directly to the page where you can complete that step. Click any item to jump straight to the relevant settings page or feature.

Tips

  • Upload your logo early - It's required for plan watermarks and professional invoicing
  • Set up phase templates first - You can then apply them to all properties with one click
  • Complete at your own pace - The checklist saves your progress automatically

Questions

Q: Can I skip optional steps? A: Yes, only the company profile and logo upload are required. You can complete other steps whenever you're ready.

Q: What happens when I complete all required steps? A: The onboarding checklist auto-completes and stops appearing, but you can still access it from settings if needed.
