Schedule Views: Map and Calendar
Visualize your scheduled work on a map or calendar
Overview
BlueClerk offers Map and Calendar views to help you visualize your scheduled jobs and service tickets. See where your work is located geographically, or view your schedule by day, week, or month.
Map View
What It Shows
- Color-coded pins for jobs and tickets by status
- Jobs: Blue (In Progress), Green (Completed), Gray (Scheduled), Red (Cancelled), Orange (Rescheduled)
- Service Tickets: Orange pins
- Live tech locations: Blue pins showing where your team is right now
- Click any pin to see job details, customer, address, and scheduled date
Customer Information on Map Pins
When you click a job or ticket pin on the map, you'll see:
- Customer name - For all jobs
- Customer phone - Clickable to call directly
- Customer email - Clickable to send email
- Property address - Full address of the job location
- Job details - Status, assigned tech, scheduled date/time
- Ticket description - What work needs to be done
This normalized customer data ensures you have complete contact information at your fingertips, whether the customer is a homeowner, business, or builder - no more missing phone numbers or email addresses when you need to reach someone on-site.
Using the Map
- Zoom with mouse wheel or pinch gesture
- Pan by clicking and dragging
- Click any pin to see details
- Use filters at the top to show/hide specific statuses
- See live tech locations if your team has location sharing enabled
Calendar View
What It Shows
- Day view - Hour-by-hour schedule for today
- Week view - 7-day grid showing all jobs
- Month view - Full month calendar with job counts per day
- Color-coded events by job status (same colors as map view)
Using the Calendar
- Switch views with Day/Week/Month buttons
- Navigate dates with arrow buttons or date picker
- Click any event to see job details
- Drag events to reschedule (if you have edit permissions)
- Filter by team member to see individual schedules
Time Slot Display
Jobs are shown based on their time slot type:
- AM appointments - Display in the morning block (8am-12pm)
- PM appointments - Display in the afternoon block (12pm-5pm)
- Specific times - Show at the exact scheduled time
- All-day/Not specified - Show as all-day events
Switching Between Views
From the Navigation
- Click "Schedule" in the sidebar
- Choose "Map View" or "Calendar View"** from the flyout menu
- Your preference is saved for next time
Why Use Each View
Map View is best for:
- Route planning
- Seeing geographic density of work
- Finding jobs near each other for efficient scheduling
- Visualizing service area coverage
Calendar View is best for:
- Daily schedule planning
- Avoiding double-bookings
- Seeing team availability
- Planning workload by day/week/month
Tips
- Update job status to keep map pins accurate
- Use filters to focus on what matters right now
- Check the calendar before scheduling to avoid conflicts
- Share your location from the mobile app so dispatchers can see where you are
Questions
Q: Why don't I see some jobs on the map? A: Jobs without a property address or with invalid coordinates won't appear on the map. Make sure every job has a valid property assigned.
Q: Can I reschedule jobs by dragging them on the calendar? A: Yes, if you have edit permissions for jobs. Click and drag any event to a new date/time slot.
Q: How often do tech locations update on the map? A: Tech locations update in real-time when they move while the mobile app is open and location sharing is enabled.
Q: Why does the calendar show some jobs as all-day events? A: Jobs without a specific time slot (AM, PM, or exact time) display as all-day events. You can edit the job to add a time slot.
