Configure how you receive alerts about jobs and messages

Overview

Stay on top of new opportunities and customer messages with BlueClerk notifications. Configure how and when you receive alerts so you never miss important updates.

Types of Notifications

Job-Related

  • New marketplace jobs - Jobs posted matching your services and area
  • Job request received - Direct requests from customers
  • Job request status - Accepted, declined, or changed
  • Hired - When a homeowner chooses you

Message Notifications

  • New message - Someone sent you a message
  • Conversation update - Activity in a conversation

Work Notifications

  • Job reminder - Upcoming scheduled jobs
  • Job assigned - Work assigned to you (if you're on a team)

Billing Notifications

  • Payment received - Customer paid an invoice
  • Invoice viewed - Customer opened your invoice

Configuring Notifications

Accessing Settings

  1. Click your profile icon
  2. Go to Settings
  3. Select "Notifications"

Notification Channels

Choose how to receive each type:

  • Email - Sent to your account email
  • In-App - Shows in BlueClerk notifications
  • Push - Mobile notifications (if using mobile)

Toggling Notifications

For each notification type:

  • Toggle ON to receive
  • Toggle OFF to disable
  • Choose which channels

Recommended Settings

For Active Job Hunters

If you want to catch every opportunity:

  • New marketplace jobs: Email + Push
  • Hired: Email + Push
  • New message: Email + Push

For Established Businesses

If you get plenty of work:

  • New marketplace jobs: In-App only
  • Hired: Email + Push
  • New message: Email + Push

For Teams

If you work with others:

  • Job assigned: Email + Push
  • Job reminder: Push

Managing Notification Overload

Too Many Notifications?

If you're overwhelmed:

  • Turn off email for marketplace jobs (check manually)
  • Set quiet hours (if available)
  • Focus on direct requests and messages

Too Few Notifications?

If you're missing things:

  • Enable email for important items
  • Check that emails aren't going to spam
  • Verify notification settings are correct

Email Notifications

Delivery Issues

If emails aren't arriving:

  1. Check spam/junk folder
  2. Add BlueClerk to contacts
  3. Verify your email address is correct
  4. Check with your email provider

Email Frequency

Depending on settings, you may receive:

  • Individual emails per event
  • Digest emails (if available)

Push Notifications

Mobile App Required

Push notifications require:

  • BlueClerk mobile app installed
  • Notifications enabled on your device
  • Being logged into the app

Device Settings

Make sure your phone allows BlueClerk notifications:

  • iOS: Settings > Notifications > BlueClerk
  • Android: Settings > Apps > BlueClerk > Notifications

Tips

  • Don't disable important notifications completely
  • Check notifications daily at minimum
  • Quick responses improve hiring chances
  • Balance staying informed vs. distraction

Q: Can I set different settings for different services? A: Currently, settings apply across all your services. Service-specific filtering may be added.

Q: What if I still miss notifications? A: Check spam filters, verify settings, and make sure you're checking the right email.

Q: Can I get texts instead of emails? A: Text/SMS notifications may depend on your plan and settings availability.

Q: Are notifications sent 24/7? A: Yes, notifications are sent when events happen. Consider email rules for off-hours.

Q: Can I temporarily pause all notifications? A: You'd need to turn them off in settings and re-enable when ready.
