Find and download the BlueClerk mobile app for iOS and Android

Overview

The BlueClerk mobile app lets your field techs run their entire day from their phone - schedule jobs, check in and out, take photos, collect payments, and work offline. The app is available for both iOS (App Store) and Android (Play Store).

NEW: Push Notifications - The mobile app now receives real-time push notifications for ticket assignments, job updates, and important alerts. Enable notifications when prompted on first launch to stay informed about your work.

Finding the Mobile App

From Your Dashboard

When you first log in as a contractor, you'll see a dismissible banner at the top of your dashboard:

  1. Review the mobile app features described in the banner
  2. Click "See downloads →" to visit the /mobile page with download links
  3. Click "Not interested" to hide the banner permanently (stored in your browser)
  4. Click the X to close the banner for this session

Push Notifications

Enabling Push Notifications

When you first open the mobile app:

  1. The app will request notification permission on iOS or Android
  2. Tap "Allow" to receive push notifications
  3. Your device token is registered with BlueClerk automatically
  4. You'll receive notifications for:
    • Ticket assignments from contractors
    • Job status updates
    • Payment confirmations
    • Important alerts

Managing Notifications

  • iOS: Go to Settings > Notifications > BlueClerk to manage notification preferences
  • Android: Go to Settings > Apps > BlueClerk > Notifications to customize alerts

What Triggers Push Notifications

  • Ticket assigned: When a contractor dispatches work to you as a subcontractor
  • Job updates: Status changes on your assigned jobs
  • Messages: New messages from customers or contractors
  • Payment alerts: Invoice payment confirmations

Payment Controls for Field Workers

Invoice and Payment Visibility

Contractors can now control which team members and subcontractors can view invoices and process payments:

  • Company-wide settings: Enable/disable invoice access for all employees and subcontractors
  • Per-subcontractor override: Grant specific subs invoice access even if company default is off
  • Mobile UI adapts automatically: Invoice and payment features hide for users without permission

Checking Your Payment Permissions

  1. Open a completed job in the mobile app
  2. If you see "Create Invoice" - you have invoice permissions
  3. If the button is hidden - your company has restricted invoice access for your role
  4. Contact your company admin to request invoice access if needed

Questions

Q: Why am I not receiving push notifications? A: Check that you allowed notifications when the app first launched. Go to your device Settings > Notifications > BlueClerk and ensure notifications are enabled.

Q: Can I disable specific notification types? A: Not yet - all notifications are enabled or disabled together. We'll add granular notification controls in a future update.

Q: Why can't I see the invoice button on jobs? A: Your company has restricted invoice access for your role. Contact your company admin if you need invoice permissions.

Q: I'm a subcontractor - why can some of my jobs create invoices but others can't? A: The contractor company controls invoice permissions per job. Some contractors allow subs to invoice, others handle invoicing themselves.
